GUITAR
The guitar is a medium string instrument that is played with either your fingers or a pick. It is commonly used in most genres from pop music to rock and is great for playing chords or for stepping out to perform hair-raising solos. It commonly has six strings, but many guitars also have additional strings to increase range.
BASS
The bass guitar is a large string instrument that can be played with a pick or your fingers. It is mostly used to play low notes and gives depth to the band. It also lends strength to the rhythm section of a group. The bass usually has four strings, but some basses have more than that.
DRUMS
The drum set it a group of five (typically) percussive instruments played together in various patterns. The goal is to keep the beat and create a rhythm for the band to follow. PRS offers two drum lesson rooms and teaches all styles of drumming.
VOCALS
Singing is the act of making musical sounds with the voice, especially words with a set tune. By helping you understand own individual voice and range, PRS can give you the skills needed to sing your favorite songs with confidence.
PIANO
A large keyboard musical instrument with a wooden case enclosing a soundboard and metal strings, which are struck by hammers when the keys are depressed. The strings' vibration is stopped by dampers when the keys are released, and it can be regulated for length and volume by two or three pedals. PRS also offers electronic (digital piano lessons).
VIOLIN
The violin is a string instrument played with a horsehair bow. Most violins have a hollow wooden body. It is the smallest and highest-pitched member of the violin family of string instruments. A violin is called a fiddle when playing folk music.
MANDOLIN
The mandolin is a small string instrument mainly played with a pick. It plays very high notes and can be used for soloing and accompaniment. It works well in bluegrass, country, and folk music. Most mandolins have eight strings that are very close together.
BANJO
The banjo is a medium-string instrument that is either plucked or picked. It is traditionally used in folk, bluegrass, and country music, but has found homes in many other genres. It is played in many different tunings and is typically an accompanying instrument. Most banjos have five strings, though some have only four.
UKULELE
The ukulele is a small string instrument that comes from Hawaii. It looks like a very small guitar but only has four strings instead of six. It plays very high notes and is usually plucked with the fingers. It is typically very pleasant sounding due to its nylon strings.
FLUTE
The flute is a family of musical instruments in the woodwind group. Unlike woodwind instruments with reeds, a flute is an aerophone or reedless wind instrument that produces its sound from the flow of air across an opening.
TRUMPET
The trumpet is a brass instrument commonly used in classical and jazz ensembles. The trumpet group ranges from the piccolo trumpet with the highest register in the brass family, to the bass trumpet, which is pitched one octave below the standard B♭ or C Trumpet.
TROMBONE
The trombone is a musical instrument in the brass family. As with all brass instruments, sound is produced when the player's vibrating lips (embouchure) cause the air column inside the instrument to vibrate.
